How Much Do Breast Implants Cost

By

Many women are opting for breast augmentation for several reasons. The most obvious reason is the declining costs of such cosmetic procedures. So it's natural for them to ask how much do breast implants cost. The actual implants will most likely be the second most expensive fee after the surgeon's fee. Breast implants like the surgery itself will vary price wise. There are several reasons why some breast implants cost more than others. First there are two types of breast implants, saline and silicone. The difference is that saline breast implants are filled have a silicone exterior but on the inside they are filled with saline or salt water. Saline breast implants are often chosen over silicone implants because they are believed to be safer. The fear stems for possible rupture and if that happens then the saline solution leaking into the body wouldn't pose a threat to health. Silicone breast implants are filled with silicone and there was a scandal involving this type of implants in which sales were banned. The FDA since then has however approved silicone breast implants but limited the licensing and manufacturing to two companies: Allergan and Mentor.

Before thinking about breast implant cost one should know what's the difference between saline and silicone breast implants. We know that one is saline filled and the other is not. The biggest difference is the feel as silicone breast implants according to women feel much more natural. Also saline implants can show ripples and this is especially true in smaller breasted women. FYI the overwhelming majority of women, more than 80% have opted for saline as they safety is more a concern for them. The cost of breast implants is about $500 higher for silicone implants. Such a number is actually negligible considering the total breast implant cost. Aside from the actual cost of breast implants there are additional fees. The surgeon's fees will range between $2,000 and $7,000. The medical center's fee will be around $1,000 to $1,500 and the anesthesia fee will cost average around $700. You should expect to pay between $3500-$9000 for saline breast implants including surgeon fees and other costs. And expect to pay between $4,000 and $9,500 for silicone breast implants. As you can see the difference isn't the much between the different types of breast implants. How much do breast implants cost should only one factor that you think about. Consider the other costs, of which the surgeon's fee will amount to the most. You should also seriously think about the risks and your surgeon will be more than happy to tell about all your options. Breast implant cost should not distract you from the bigger picture. You can finance your cosmetic surgery in several ways and no matter what type of implant you choose the monthly payments won't be very different.
